Spring is undoubtedly the season of love and renewal, making it the perfect time for a wedding. Nestled in the heart of San Juan Capistrano, Franciscan Gardens provided an enchanting and secluded scene. With a color palette of mauve and peach, lush floral arrangements, and charming nods to the groom’s English heritage, this celebration was a true testament to making the florals feel like an extension of the couple.
The outdoor ceremony at Franciscan Gardens was nothing short of breathtaking. The focal point of the event was the venue’s circle arch adorned with a lush display of fresh florals in shades of mauve, peach, and ivory. I sourced the majority of the flowers from local farms like The Ecology Center, which always provide a more unique touch to the client’s vision. The planning team behind Pretty Palm Leaf Events brought together an amazing team of vendors to help bring all of this beauty together.
The photographer Kylie from Kylie & Co. captured everything beautifully, and truly utilize the venues natural light and shadows to enhance the decor. One of the focal flowers I selected for the clients is a new rose variety called “Moab.”
The lush, growing garden inspired aisle florals were later repurposed in the reception at the seating chart and lounge area.
The bridesmaids, dressed in elegant mauve gowns, added a touch of sophistication to the scene. Their bouquets, lovingly tied off with delicate silk ribbons from Tono & Co., complemented the color scheme beautifully. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the soft hues of mauve and peach seemed to intensify, casting a warm and romantic glow over the ceremony.
The pergola punctuates the outdoor ceremony area at Franciscan Gardens. It provides the perfect canvas for floral installations, like these hanging floral clouds. These fluffy hanging floral clouds were a fun twist on the classic color palette and garden inspired inspiration, and added an impactful floral focal point to the reception area.
The reception tables were a masterpiece of design. Each one featured bud vase centerpieces bursting with fresh blooms, perfectly complementing the color palette. Mauve taper candles in elegant holders added a soft, romantic glow to the dining area, creating an atmosphere of pure enchantment. The 24 Carrots Catering team never disappoints with their delicious cuisine and steadfast team.
We always love to mix it up with centerpieces styles and candles. Not only does this help diversify your decor, it can help with your budget as well. You aren’t beholden to one centerpiece style and candle for every table. This reception is a beautiful example of using bud vase centerpieces arranged to compliment each table they’re adorning.
As the night drew to a close, the newlyweds made a grand exit in a dark green Triumph TR250. The vintage car added a touch of timeless elegance to their special day, whisking them away to start their journey together as a married couple.
The spring wedding at Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano was a dream come true. With a color palette of mauve and peach, lush floral accents, and vintage-inspired decor, it was a celebration that captured the essence of love and the beauty of the season. From the enchanting outdoor ceremony to the reception amidst hanging floral clouds, every moment was filled with romance and elegance. It was a day to remember, a day when two souls united in love amidst the blooming beauty of spring.
