For those who love color like we do at Urban Marigold, this is a wedding you need to see! A medley of soft and bold colors worked harmoniously together to create a truly stunning design. When discussing the vision for their wedding, this couple knew they wanted the color to pop through the florals. Let’s take a look at this contemporary and colorful downtown Los Angeles Wedding at The Fig House.
First, let me introduce you to this dream wedding venue. The Fig House is a contemporary indoor and outdoor venue space located close to downtown Los Angeles. The space feels like a private romantic destination. With outdoor spaces filled to the brim with greenery to art deco styled interiors, there’s so much to love about The Fig House. The venue can host 100-350 guests making it suitable for a range of different wedding styles. They also make sourcing your caterer easy, with an onsite catering team available. You can find out more details on their website!
If you were wondering if navy blue is still in style, I’m here to tell you it definitely is! Navy is such a timeless color that seamlessly transitions to many different aesthetics. And guess what? Navy and black do in fact mix. The groom and his groomsmen wore chic navy suits. A black bowtie and lapels added a unique extra detail to the groom’s look. I created bright, multi-color boutonnieres to accessorize the groom and groomsmen’s wedding day outfits.
For the bride, she wore a breathtaking lace gown with a deep v-neck. She accessorized with a romantic updo and simple tulle veil. Of course, we can’t forget about the bouquet! A lush, colorful bouquet with a range of pastel and bold colors added that final touch to her wedding style. The beautiful bridesmaids wore soft blue dresses with complimenting bouquets. What a stylish group!
Time for the ceremony! I think of each wedding in different “acts”. When designing the floral pieces for each portion of the wedding, I consider how this factors into the timeline and transitions throughout the day. Just like theater, the behind-the-scenes is just as important to the overall function of the event!
The ceremony took place outdoors under string lights in a sea of greenery. The couple and I knew the florals needed to really pop in order to stand out against the natural backdrop of their venue. I began with a simple floral feature on the bronze arch. Then, fresh floral pieces framed the space. The final product was incredible.
Onto the reception, or “act two”! Those reception florals were super easy to move into the indoor space. I designed those pieces to be functional without sacrificing any of the appearances of the completed looks. The moody reception setting included tables decorated with floral runners in the form of bud vases. This is such a great option for long tables and family-style catering. Bud vases are easy to move around as needed without ruining the look. I kept the bud vases delicate and featured softer tones to stand out against the darker walls.
