COLOR PALETTE: Lavender, Purple, Peach, Coral, Yellow
It’s safe to say that, Bridgerton, the Netflix show with roughly 600 million hours viewed has most of us captivated. As a floral designer, I can’t help but look at the popular show’s design. I mean, the extravagant costumes, bold colors, and the abundance of lush florals create such a beautiful setting for the romantic stories. Since the release of the series, Bridgerton weddings have started trending. With a talented team of vendors, I set out to create my own real-life vision for your inspiration. If you are interested in planning your own wedding with this hot new theme, keep reading! Let’s take a look at this colorful Bridgerton inspired garden wedding.
The goal for the floral arch was to feel as if you were having your own romantic experience in an over the top English garden. I drew from the dreamy pastel hues of the costumes and wisteria-laden homes when creating the color palette for this design. To bring the heat from those scandalous garden encounters, I added shades of peach and citrus. The asymmetrical shape and all of the textures allow this arch to feel natural. The arch was designed to appear as though it is a part of the garden while still serving as a focal point for the wedding ceremony.
That’s right, there is more than one bouquet! In the world of Bridgerton, you don’t have to choose – when it comes to accessories at least. The bouquets complimented the romantic wedding gown and effortlessly chic hair and makeup, adding bright pops of color. I created a purple bouquet and a yellow bouquet, tying pastel ribbons around each option. The bouquets are structurally compact, making them perfect for an intimate wedding. We created this garden scene in a backyard! Which bouquet is your favorite?
I absolutely love the detail photos. To highlight this creative stationery suite, I provided a mix of purple and yellow florals. One of my favorite details is the wax seals. There are multiple ways to add floral elements to your wedding! Didn’t Marisa and Tim from Peterson Design and Photo do such a beautiful job capturing these photos? Even the watercolor prints on the invitations actually picture flowers. The balance of romance and opulence screams Bridgerton. Fun fact: the designer for these stationery pieces also served as the beautiful model for the day. Thank you Calligraphy by Michelle T!
Let’s take a look at this charming, backyard wedding ready version of a grand royal table. By now you see that for this aesthetic, I always add a bright punch of color in combination with the soft pastels. A lavender runner and two different sizes of floral arrangements for the centerpieces set the base for this tablescape. Then, I added those fun yellow taper candles with gold candle holders. The floral printed plates added an extra elegant detail. I think this is the perfect spot for a true love match to dine!
I had such a blast creating the floral elements for this creative styled shoot. It was so fun to work alongside such a talented vendor team and bring an idea like this to life.
