Where to even begin? Elise and Victor’s fall wedding was a floral dream come true. We had the absolute honor of designing their bold, showstopping wedding florals at Franciscan Gardens, one of Orange County’s most romantic outdoor wedding venues. This California garden wedding was all about deep, moody tones and statement-making blooms, think rich burgundy hues, soft candlelight, and dramatic color contrasts. The bride stunned in white, the wedding party rocked black gowns, and let’s not forget the flower girls in their rich red velvet dresses. The impact? Unmatched.

Franciscan Gardens: A San Juan Capistrano Wedding Venue Tat’s All the Vibes

Tucked away in the heart of historic San Juan Capistrano, Franciscan Gardens is a private, lush garden that feels worlds away. Spanish-style fountains, vine-wrapped pergolas, and twinkling bistro lights set the scene for an effortlessly romantic wedding. It’s one of our favorite venues to flower because it allows us to go big with color and design, where the florals are the only kind of drama we want at a wedding. And for this wedding, that drama was deep, rich, and bursting with autumnal vibrancy.

Designing with Burgundy: Bold, Romantic, Next-Level

The wedding couple envisioned a wedding that was modern, artistic, and packed with color. Burgundy was the star, its rich, deep tones brought a sophisticated yet bold energy to the day. It’s not your traditional wedding palette, and that’s exactly why we loved it. Against the lush greenery of Franciscan Gardens, the florals popped in the best way possible.

The Wedding Florals: Statement Designs in Every Corner

We don’t do anything by halves here at Urban Marigold. For this wedding, we designed lush, dynamic floral moments that told a story, one of passion, romance, and individuality.

Bridal Bouquet: We went for a lush, cascading bouquet with zero filler foliage, just pure, statement blooms. Think deep burgundy anthurium, bold cymbidium orchids, and trailing blood-red amaranthus for movement. Against the bride’s white gown? Total showstopper. And when paired with the bridesmaids’ black dresses? Jaw-dropping.

Ceremony Flowers: We created modern, sculptural flower meadows to frame the aisle and altar, using white pillars for a clean, contemporary base. Dahlias, roses, amaranthus, and anthuriums from Mayesh (our go-to Orange County flower wholesaler) took center stage, with hints of purpley-pink celosia for depth. Every bloom had a purpose - impact, drama, and complementary texture. 

Wedding Reception Flower Centerpieces:

The wedding reception florals were nothing short of breathtaking, transforming the space into a vibrant, immersive experience that felt both artistic and deeply personal. Round tables featured lush, color-soaked centerpieces bursting with locally sourced blooms, while the long, rectangular tables were elevated with cascading arrangements beneath rattan-style light shades draped with striking blood-red amaranthus.

Special shout-out to the show-stopping bar arrangement designed with the most stunning fall flowers; anthurium, dahlias, amaranthus, celosia and roses - quite the flower shopping list! oh and complimentary burgundy foliage (of course!).
