LGBTQ+ friendly wedding planner Frank Shaver-Burgess of Events by Frank assembled this powerhouse wedding vendor team. Frank is a wedding planner based in Orange County, California and is inclusive of all love stories. Love Is Love!

A Colorful Spring Gay Wedding

Colorful Wedding Invitation Suite

A punchy, colorful wedding invitation suite brings an element of fun and uniqueness to any wedding day and celebration. Michelle Tieu at Calligraphy By Michelle designed the colorful wedding stationery.

It sets the stage for a joyous and vibrant event, instantly conveying the couple’s personality and the festive atmosphere guests can expect. 

Bright, bold colors and playful designs create a memorable first impression, making the invitation itself a cherished keepsake. Marisa Peterson from Peterson Design Photo specializes in inclusive, colorful weddings and captured all of the vibrant flat lay details perfectly.

Colorful Boutonniere Pocket Square

The grooms opted for lush, colorful boutonniere pocket squares rather than the standard pin-on boutonniere.

 Both grooms had their own personal floral moment, and the colors truly popped against their Friar Tux suits. Patrick wore the Friar Tux Cobalt Blue performance suit, while Shaun donned the Dark Green Venice Suit from their collection.

A Growing Garden Inspired Wedding Ceremony

We crafted a stunning grounded garden arch for this colorful spring wedding ceremony, designed entirely without toxic floral foam. Instead, we used sustainable and reusable mechanics including:

• chicken wire – this serves as a sturdy and reusable framework to securely hold the flowers in place
• Moss –  retains moisture, providing a natural cushion for the flowers, and adding a lush, organic look. 
•  Agra Wool – is a mineral based wool that offers water retention ensuring fresh wedding flowers.

This eco-friendly approach not only promotes sustainability but also demonstrates that you can create breathtaking, unique designs with environmentally friendly mechanics.

We incorporated striking, vibrant Gerbera Dasies, Lilies and Gladioli, all grown on flower farms in Orange County. It was important to us at Urban Marigold that, for this styled shoot, we incorporated flowers that aren’t traditionally found within popular wedding ceremony designs. Over here we do like to break from tradition and think outside of the box to crate a fun modern wedding vibe.

Colorful Wedding Reception Ideas

We continued the growing garden theme for the wedding reception tables, creating a lush, organic aesthetic. 

Similar to the wedding ceremony design, the table arrangements featured vibrant blooms like gerbera daisies, lilies, and gladiolis, enhancing the garden-inspired design and providing a cohesive aesthetic. 

To add a modern touch, we used acrylic table settings from Bright Event Rentals.

This blend of natural beauty and contemporary design elements created an inviting and memorable wedding reception.

Sustainable Candles for a Cohesive Look

The candles for the reception tables were crafted from repurposed candle wax by the Colorado-based company Chandlerie. This innovative company takes used candles and remakes them into gorgeous, reusable candles specifically designed for weddings and events. We love their dedication to sustainability and reducing waste in the wedding and event industry

Chandlerie’s practice of accepting used candles to repurpose into new ones is a brilliant effort to reduce waste. This not only offers an environmentally friendly solution but also provides clients with a meaningful way to contribute to sustainability.

Incorporating these repurposed candles into the table settings added a warm, cohesive ambiance that aligned perfectly with our eco-friendly values.

Colette’s Catering created these seasonally inspired scrumptious dishes and specialty cocktails. They’re the exclusive event caterer to the Ebell Club, Santa Ana. They truly tailor to your needs to your event, just look at those colorful cocktails – delicious!

A Sweetheart Table to Remember

One fantastic perk of investing in ceremony installations is their versatility for the reception. 

Our growing grounded ceremony arch designs can be deconstructed and creatively repurposed, like we did for the Sweetheart Table and the piano. 

Just remember, your floral team will need to stay on-site to move these pieces, so be sure to ask your floral designer how this will be incorporated into your proposal and budget.

This Veuve Clicquot Champagne bottle was transformed into a work of art by calligrapher Calligraphy by Michelle T. She hand painted the Ebell Club of Santa Ana. This is a wonderful keepsake to display in your home and enjoy for years to come.
